Great Yarmouth
The resort town of Great Yarmouth is a hive of activity and holds a number of attractions for all the family. Play on the sandy beach or visit the Pleasure Beach and the Golden Mile, the Sea Life Centre, Time & Tide Museum or the medieval town hall β thereβs lots to do!
Caister-on-Sea
Caister, once an ancient Roman village, is now a popular friendly holiday resort with sandy beaches and grassy dunes. Visit Caister Hall, the ruins of mid 15th century moated Caister Castle which now houses a car collection and the foundations of a Roman construction.
Thrigby
The small village is home to Thrigby Hall and Wildlife Gardens, a 250 acre family attraction celebrated for its collection of Asian animals in the marvellous grounds and gardens of Thrigby Hall. Get face to face with the animals and learn about wildlife conservation.
Ranworth
The impressive church of St. Helen, the βCathedral of the Broadsβ is a Ranworth landmark where you can climb the tower to take in impressive views. Nearby the floating Broads Wildlife centre at the Norfolk Wildlife Trust site at Ranworth has a boardwalk that passes through woodlands and reedbeds.
Wroxham
Actually two villages, Wroxham and Hoveton St. Johns is the capital of the Norfolk Broads, a vibrant humming location with plenty of cafes and restaurants. Hire a boat, visit Hoveton Hall Gardens, enjoy the riverside park and Bure Valley Steam Railway or wander round the Wroxham Barns craft centre.
Happisburgh
Happisburg has the oldest and only independent working lighthouse in the UK built in 1790 and overlooking the Haisborough Sands. You can climb the 133 steps of the 15th century St. Maryβs church tower to enjoy views of the coast and countryside.
North Walsham
The bustling market town of North Walsham has a history in the wool and weaving industries. The Market Cross and the Market Clock are the centre of the town populated with local shops and stores which makes North Walsham a great base for exploring the Norfolk Broads and Norfolk Coast.
