Overview

Start at Little Walsingham and head towards the coast to visit Holkham Hall and the sandy Holkham Beach. Drift along the scenic Norfolk shoreline visiting the villages of Wells-next-the-Sea, Blakeney, Cley, Holt, Sheringham and Cromer or let the Bittern Line take the strain.

Little Walsingham,

From Saxon times to the Reformation a centre for pilgrimage. The medieval streets of Little Walsingham lead to the 14th century restored Slipper Chapel at the centre of the Roman Catholic National Shrine. Visitors can also see the ruins of the monastic remains of Walsingham Friary and abbey gates.

Holkham

Along with The Holkham Nature Reserve you will find the stately home and estate of Holkham Hall and the sandy beach of Holkham Bay where the Household Cavalry Horses spend their summer break! You can visit the deer park, museum and gardens and take the marked trail walks at the Hall.

Cley next the Sea,

Wander the narrow streets of Cley-next-the-sea and buy some tasty local produce before exploring the reedbeds of Cley Marshes – the nature reserve has board walks to help you navigate. Be sure to catch sight of the Cley Windmill on the skyline.

Blakeney

Explore the picturesque coastal village with its small harbour and backdrop of coastal marshes. Take your time to wander around the local shops, eateries and galleries. Enjoy the expansive horizons with a walk to Morston Quay and may be take a trip to see the seals!

Weybourne

Set on the Norfolk Coastal Path, Weybourne is a delightful little village in the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Weybourne Station is the middle station on the Poppy Line running between Sheringham and Holt. Military enthusiasts will be sure to visit the Muckleburgh Collection at the former MoD Weybourne.

Sheringham

Relax and watch the landing of the day’s catch at Sheringham’s harbour before wandering along the blue flag beach on a coastal walk to take in the unspoilt views. Visit the Priory Maze, Sheringham Park and collections at The Mo, the Sheringham museum.

Cromer

A seaside town Cromer has expansive blue flag beaches and is home to the Henry Blogg museum charting the history of the RNLI. On Cromer Pier you will find the famous Pavilion Theatre. Be sure to explore the town’s gift shops, restaurants and arts and crafts shops.

Holt

Located amongst the fine Georgian buildings of rural Holt you will find enchanting shops, galleries, eateries and antique and book shops. Further afield is the 100 acre Holt Country Park offering you an opportunity to stretch your legs and take a walk amongst the woodland.

Baconsthorpe

Home to the ruins of Baconsthorpe Castle, the 15th century moated manor house. Take a while to unwind at this tranquil spot to explore the ruins and enjoy a picnic.

Blickling

Once home of the Boleyn family, legend has it Anne Boleyn’s ghost patrols the National Trust house and garden of Blicking Hall, a magnificent house surrounded by acres of breath taking grounds where you can walk or cycle.
