Colourful houses and vibrant structures look harmoniously over the tranquil harbour, as long, golden beaches rest peacefully underneath the brisk coastal winds. Welcome to Weymouth.

Whether you’re looking to sample the locally caught fresh fish, or simply enjoy an evening beachside stroll, you’ll find your inner peace in the delightfully charismatic town.

From charming country style pubs with friendly locals, to the bustling harbour and stunning coastal walks – the seaside town of Weymouth in Dorset is a fantastic place to explore.

Here are just a few of our all-time favourite things to do in Weymouth.

Outdoor Activities

Visit the Beach

Weymouth is perhaps best known for its incredible coast. A beautiful beachfront where anybody can go to relax, why not dig for seashells, or build a sandcastle to rival Nothe Fort? Enjoy some fresh fish and chips as you bask in the afternoon sun, or take your dog for on a nice walk along the shoreline.

You can even enjoy traditional seaside activities like donkey rides, or watching a classic Punch and Judy show.

Abbotsbury Swannery

The Abbotsbury Swannery provides a rare opportunity to walk amongst an entire colony of nesting Mute Swans.

Abbotsbury Swannery is the only place in the world where you can observe swans in such a capacity, and it is spread over 25 acres, so you will want to dedicate the whole day to explore.

Weymouth Harbour

The picturesque harbour is at the epicentre of a wonderfully preserved 17th century waterfront. Still heavily used to this day, you can watch as the boats and barges effortlessly pull in – all from the comfort of one of the many bars and cafes that surround the peaceful water.

Nothe Fort

Nothe Fort is a cliff side chateau placed precariously at the end of the Nothe Peninsula, a large rock face that juts east from mainland Weymouth.

This three level fort is packed full of interesting things to do.
