Alaz is a family business borne of a love of good Turkish food and a desire to share the Turkish dining experience. As an independent restaurant we really value our customers and aim to give you the quality and attention you deserve. Named after the god of fire in Turkish mythology, Alaz has power over fire and all of the hearths and stoves are in his command; perhaps you will catch a glimpse of Alaz over hot charcoals while we prepare your food.

Using only the freshest of ingredients, our Turkish chefs are experts in combining flavours in a way that is unique to the cuisine. Whether you want a light meal or a feast, we have just the thing for you.

Set in the 16th Century home of a merchant, you will find the traditional features expected of a listed building. Heavily beamed throughout, Alaz embodies Suffolk charm, tastefully adorned with décor inspired by the Turkish Ottoman period. There is a choice of dining spaces for you to enjoy with friends and family.

It is advisable to reserve your table in advance for Friday and Saturday evenings. We welcome walk-ins at any time but cannot guarantee a table without prior booking.
