This post was written by Grace, aged 14, who entered our Young Persons’ Writing Competition 2020.
My dream UK holiday would start out in Wales Snowdonia National Park at the foot of Mount Snowdon during the summer holidays (so it would be nice and hot). I would stay for three days with my mother, father and two brothers (Elliott and Oliver). On the first day we would visit the national park visitors center where we would learn about the area and then go hiking around the hills where we would spot and take pictures of different animals like rabbits, snakes and lizards.
The next day we would walk to all ten of the castles in the area and explore the rich history. We would finish the day off with a delicious meal from the local pub while looking at the view of beautiful hills of Snowdonia before going to bed in our cosy tent at a local campsite.
The next morning I would eat breakfast cooked off an open fire to fill me up for a wonderful day full of adventure.I would head down to the Lake Bala where me and brothers would participate in numerous watersports such as paddle boarding kayaking and canoeing we would then have light picnic lunch on the bank of the lake, before spending the rest of the day at Snowdonia’s coastline in the scorching hot sun where me and my family would learn how to surf then we would build sand castle with my two brothers until it was time to go to our next destination then we would get in the car and drive to Alton towers where we would stay in the Alton towers splash landings so the next day we could go into Alton towers theme park.
We would start off by getting the monorail into the park and first we would go on The Smiler before then looking round the Sealife Centre that is at Alton towers before going on the runaway mine train. For dinner we would go to the roller coaster cafe which is so cool because you get your food brought to you on a mini roller coaster. The following day we would go to Alton Towers water park where we would go on all of the slides and have an amazing time swimming. We would then spend our last night in the hotel before finally driving home after an adventure filled exciting dream UK holiday.
